Thank you, Ohio. Find It Here. and Young’s Jersey Dairy for sponsoring this post. Have you ever visited a dairy farm? How about a fun, family-friendly dairy farm with a pumpkin patch, petting area, homemade ice cream and so much more? Right outside of Dayton, Ohio sits Young’s Jersey’s Dairy Farm so I’ve highlighted a few of our favorite spots around the farm. Here are a few adventures you can do while you’re visiting Young’s Jersey Dairy farm:
Sample Homemade Ice Cream:
Young’s Jersey Dairy got a new face lift! The older building (in front), was recently removed and a new dairy store was constructed. Inside the new building is a cafeteria along with their highly-rated homemade ice cream and event spaces for your next gathering. My girls loved large cows throughout the building. It was a fun way to keep their attention while we were waiting for food. Here’s a tip: taste their cheese curds; they were recommended to us and did not disappoint.
Young’s Jersey Dairy is known for their ice cream and it’s all made onsite. While you’re in line ordering food, you’ll now be able to watch how ice cream is made. Another winning distraction if you’re a parent of a young kid! Not only is the ice cream smooth and creamy, but they have many flavors to choose from. Their most popular flavors are: Cow Patty (double dark chocolate with toffee, cookie and chocolate chip pieces) and Cotton Candy (cotton candy flavored ice cream with mini rainbow chocolate chips).
Helpful Tip: On their website, Young’s list their flavors, ingredients, and their flavor of the week.
Petting Animals:
If your littles are like mine, you’ll probably stop to see the petting animals very quickly after arriving. Located on the east end of the Barn, are goats, cows, and other farm animals. My girls had fun feeding the goats because they are quite interactive. My youngest wasn’t a fan of the goats initially, but when she realized they were so friendly, she wanted to pet them all. She even held out her hand for them to lick towards the end. My oldest got her cup too close and the goats grabbed it and ran away! We spent the ride home laughing about that experience. Cups of goat food are available for purchase inside the dairy store. Everyday around 4:30-5:30pm, you can watch a Young’s Jersey Dairy family member milk the cows from the public area of the barn.
Activities:
Jersey’s Young has a lot of activities to keep everyone entertained. From batting cages, seasonal activities (i.e., Pick Your Own Pumpkins, Haunted Wagon Rides, corn maze and Choose and Cut Christmas Tree), Udders and Putters (activities for the littles) and so much more. We spent a lot of time in the Udders and Putters section! Not only was there a sun cover, but it was big enough for both girls to run and get some exercise! There was a small and big slide, tricycles, hoola hoops, big skee ball game and so much more!
If you’re unsure of which activities you would like to do, you can pick up a Young’s Family Fun Wristband instead of purchasing separate activities. Activities include (but not limited to): Miniature Gold, Batting Cage, Fast Slide, Corn Maze, Double Buckeye Sundae and much more.
