Homemade Buttermilk Waffles

I’m pretty sure this is the Cadillac to all Buttermilk Waffle recipes. I know that I’m biased because it’s our family favorite, but this classic recipe has yet to meet a critic.

Before finding this recipe, I went through many recipe variations with different mixtures, flour ratios and sugar portions. The first time I made this recipe, I tried 1/2 white and 1/2 whole wheat flour. Guys, it tasted SO bad! The waffles were so thick (even when I used little amounts of batter for smaller waffles). So far, I tried:

25% white flour; 75% whole wheat flour

50% white flour; 50% whole wheat flour

75% white flour; 25% whole wheat flour

Guys, they didn’t work for me.

My goal was to minimize unnecessary ratios that did not interfere with the product’s integrity (taste, texture, etc). while ensuring the great taste of the waffles. I’m excited to reveal the final product.

I can’t wait to hear how you and your family use this recipe! Enjoy
