I’m still in awe of how great this smoothie picture turned out! More importantly, this smoothie bowl tastes delicious. Our family loves smoothie, so I’ve been experimenting how I could add extra nutrients for a filling and tasty breakfast item.
I’ve included one of our favorite smoothie recipes below. I’ve added a few extra options so you can create a special flavor you and your family will enjoy.
Instructions:
Add fruit, liquid and veggies to the blender. Choose from the optional ingredients. Add ice and blend on high, or add ice after blending.
1/2 cup fruit: berries (fresh/frozen), mangoes, apples, bananas, pineapples
1 cup liquid: water, milk (coconut, almond, rice, or low-fat dairy), juice (fresh squeezed, vegetable or fruit), iced coffee, iced green tea
1/2 cup veggies: spinach, kale
1/4 cup to make it thick (optional): greek yogurt, sliced bananas (frozen), fresh avocado
1/2 tablespoon sweetener (optional): raw honey, real maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon healthy flavor (optional): ginger, cinnamon, cocoa powder, vanilla
1 serving energy (optional): acai powder, flax seeds, chia seeds, spirulina, matcha powder, ground oats
