Resources-
This picture is so special to me! It was taken in 2015 and it’s one of the last events my mom was able to walk on her own before becoming wheelchair bound. I often tear up looking at this picture because unknown to me, her health was rapidly declining, but she still smiled, laughed and was a good sport! ❤⠀
⠀
I remember running late to this graduation because I had driven through the night from DC, stopped and picked my mom up in Ohio and onward toward Michigan🖐🏾. As I pulled in to the college parking lot, I remember walking ahead of my mom, turning around and watching her struggle to walk a straight line. She flagged me ahead and told her that she would catch up. I went back and walked with her, but my attitude was awful. ⠀
⠀
After the graduation ceremony, we actually went to find my mom to take this picture because she was so dizzy and tired from all the walking. ⠀
⠀
I was insensitive and I was unaware. I also didn’t have any resources to take action even though I sensed something was wrong. ⠀
⠀
If you are like me and sense something wrong with a loved one, check out the resources (in my bio) and be a helping hand.
